Zinc

The pumpkin and sunflower seeds in this recipe provide a good source of zinc. Zinc is essential in over 300 enzyme reactions in the body, and is vital for growth and repair of muscles (including needed for protein synthesis). It is also used for hormonal and reproductive health in both men and women, proper functioning of the immune system and metabolism. It is needed for weight management via appetite and digestion, healing for acne and wounds, and prevention of colds, along with other important functions.
